Not sure how the manuscript even made it to review as it had many fundamental errors.

I reviewed a microbial fuel cell manuscript that was severely lacking detailed methods and appropriate conclusions (from the data obtained). I made 94 individual comments and the authors at one point replied with:
"thanks at least you liked at least one thing in the paper."💀😂

Had a paper under review for a year, its had 4 revisions, some of which have required quite significant work, and after the 4th revision, one of the 4 reviewers 'doesnt see the point' and its rejected. Is this how science should work? I think not.
