I wonder how many other games have been crashed and burned for the sole purpose of avoiding what was agreed to be paid out if a certain level of success was achieved, this sort of contract is really common in the industry. Make a bad game, get fired, make a good game, get fired

The CEO of Krafton (creator of PUBG) asked ChatGPT to create a "corporate takeover strategy" to prevent a company they acquired from hitting a revenue target within a certain time window (which would trigger an additional payout). ChatGPT (against his lawyer's advice) suggested locking down the acquired companies Steam account to prevent them from publishing Subnautica 2 in the time window, which the CEO of Krafton followed. ChatGPT's advice did not hold up at trial and the judge was not happy. The opinion is a wild read and includes several direct quotes from the Krafton CEO's ChatGPT conversation. I feel like it's gonna take a few more high profile examples like this until executives start realizing that conversations with ChatGPT are not privileged and you probably shouldn't describe your questionably legal schemes to them in detail!

There's a 15-foot stretch of sidewalk that I pass through every day on my morning walk. On one side, there are three large rose bushes, untrimmed and in full bloom. Beside them there's a loquat tree, covered in orange fruit that's nearly ready to pick. Just off the sidewalk edge in the dirt, there's an old toy pickup truck, brick red and rusted from disuse. On the other side of the sidewalk is a short, trimmed hedge with the most perfect little brown bunny living inside it. This 15-foot stretch is so different from all the mundane that surrounds it. Partly by design and partly by chance, it's this little extraordinary thing. And it's not hidden or locked away, it's right there, something anyone can happen upon. There are lots of places like this, and people even, who partly by design and partly by chance are extraordinary, at least to you. It's like there's a whole world of extraordinary things, but it's broken up and scattered across your world. And the highlights of your life, or at least of the dimension of your life that you'd call "discovery", are made up of finding these scattered bits. But it takes a lot of walking through the mundane and the ordinary to find them. Note to self, and others: get busy walking.
