Since Monday, Feb. 8 the top 10 teams in the country have been dropping games almost regardless which team is in which spot. Duke is the only team that didn’t lose in this stretch. No. 3 and No. 4 are the only rankings that didn’t suffer a loss. No. 1: 1-3 No. 2: 2-2 No. 3: 4-0 No. 4: 4-0 No. 5: 2-2 No. 6: 3-1 No. 7: 2-2 No. 8: 2-2 No. 9: 2-2 No. 10: 1-2 23-16 in this stretch.

I say this as nothing but a huge compliment. It’s refreshing and so fun to watch a college athlete in this era act like he’s living his childhood dream every day so much so that he channels that child dreamer. Every time they play intro video he focuses on it and reacts to every part like he’s never seen it before. When JP introduces Berke he says his own name with him in unison like he’s confirming that it’s really happening. I didn’t know if I would ever experience that kind of joy in watching a player after Keisei, and they’re not the same but they’re uncommonly lovable athletes.
