Was surprised Will Grier retired a week before camp, because when we talked at OTAs in June he seemed all in. Gotta think there's an NFL coaching job (maybe in Dallas) around corner for Grier, 31 - I know he wants to coach. He told me in June he had a "doctorate in football."

ACC commissioner Jim Phillips says he's happy that the ACC football championship this year in Charlotte will be at 12 noon rather than where it's usually been, at night on 1st Saturday in December. Last year at kickoff for Duke-Virginia at 8:15 pm, it was 39 degrees, and game drew only 41,672 fans. "The weather's dicey," Phillips said re night title games in CLT. "It can be 70, or it could be 38 degrees."
