@EssexPR I see Trump’s ‘Freedom Fighters’ continue to wage war and kill innocents in an unprovoked and unnecessary war in Iran, where’s your condemning of that or is that different as he’s (along with Elon) your hero?

Berlin terrorist - Abdul B Islamist… one of the same Islamist extremists that we are importing daily via the channel. Yet the left want to call people like me far right for highlighting it, just to satisfy their mental derangement and agenda. Filth.

I see the religion of peace has struck again with a young Islamist using his van to crash into a gay Pride celebration in Berlin, killing one reveller and injuring another 17. Amazing isn’t it how Stonewall and other gay activist groups keep so quiet over Muslim attacks. The Left never wants to upset Islam. Why?

@BenGrahamUK You’ve been calling for a GE since he was announced, why are you so concerned all of a sudden?

If this plays out and we get a general election this autumn, Labour will have had almost 3 months to sell Andy Burnham to the public with virtually no PMQ scrutiny. Instead, we'll get carefully staged announcements, polished TikToks and favourable headlines. Legacy media still hasn't seriously grilled Burnham on his economic plans for Britain. So far, we've seen more PR than policy. If that was the strategy all along, it has been executed perfectly.
Ben Graham tweet media
Ben Graham@BenGrahamUK

Andy Burnham says he won't call an early general election because “people don't want it.” I don't buy it. In my opinion, this Labour leadership switch was planned months in advance, with the timing carefully chosen. Becoming Prime Minister just before summer recess gives Burnham 6 weeks to dominate headlines with positive PR, while avoiding the weekly scrutiny of PMQs. If he then calls a general election in late August or early September, Parliament is dissolved, PMQs disappear, and the campaign becomes another 6 weeks opportunity to sell promises without the same level of parliamentary challenge. That's why I think this timeline was orchestrated from the start.

How long was the plotting going on? And were the civil service in on it? A fully kitted out, shiny new headquarters but still nothing on the big issues: immigration, economy, health - just deafening silence. I find it worse that Burnham & Co had (seemingly) done so much prep for a gimmick and so markedly little on the issues that matter.
Bev Turner@beverleyturner

Can we just take a minute to reflect upon this?.....PM on Monday. A WHOLE NEW base for the British government by FRIDAY?! How can you explain this when the civil service behemoth usually turns at the speed of a tanker??! Even if this was started the day after Makerfield, that was only 5 weeks ago... none of this adds up. Thoughts below please.

@Jacob_Rees_Mogg This has nothing to do with Brexit and you know it. When it comes to defence there is freedom to buy British, just as France buy French and Germany buys German. More false narrative you empty pencil.

@BornonLoveStre1 @DanNeidle E.g. living in Scotland I currently pay c£3k more in tax per year vs my English colleagues, but who is actually better off with all things considered, not just income tax

@scott_thomson @DanNeidle There’s no real need to. It’s already been established that Scotland has a c. 25% funding advantage when it comes to delivery of comparable services. An advantage that is not mirrored in tax raised.

Scotland raised its top income tax rate to 48% to make the rich pay more. New HMRC data suggests the result may have been the opposite: Scotland collected about £22m less. We can't be sure, but Scotland may have fallen over the Laffer curve. 🧵:

@BornonLoveStre1 @DanNeidle Not to compare the funding, to compare the total ‘cost’ to the tax payers at a comparable tax rate i.e. cost of tax+any costs paid for all services rolled up into a total cost per taxpayer, for living in England vs Scotland, in a take home figure the layman can understand easily

@KEdge23 The absolute state of that front page for a so-called newspaper, £1k is not out of the ordinary for a full outfit these days by the time you factor in the cost of a good quality jacket. Amazing that some idiots will actually lap this up 😂

Keir Starmer promised not to raise taxes on working people. He lied. Over and over again. Andy Burnham is going to raises taxes on working people and pensioners as well. Don’t trust Labour’s lies again. Don’t be fooled a second time.

@Xants_CityDG @paullewismoney And pay for prescription & dental check ups, uni fees, higher property prices, possibly higher council tax, water charges, no free buses for U23’s, etc. There’s more than income tax to consider, the benefits that go along with it should be taken into account too.
