@StasiKamoutsas Wish we had that in Seminole Co. Instead we have over 100 district employees making 100k a year. Positions at the district level being added, while teachers are cut l. Money given for raises went to those same people not teachers.

Superintendent Carlin of Lee County has demonstrated what real leadership looks like for both students and teachers. Working alongside the Lee County School Board, she championed pay raises for educators in the district’s lowest-performing schools—an investment that helps bring strong, high-quality instruction to the students who need it most. While Superintendent Asplen makes excuses, Superintendent @Dhatherop is taking decisive action and delivering results. It’s the kind of leadership that school systems across Florida would do well to follow.

@BLester1993 Especially in districts and counties that don't have or don't allow booster clubs. Then there's some places where some schools in the district have booster clubs but others don't.

Florida also needs to do better for its coaches. I can tell you the booster club being allowed to pay coaches extra is not going to make the dent some think it will.

@StasiKamoutsas @FLCollegeSystem So do some High Schools. Seminole in Sanford has a great Health Academy where students can earn several certifications including CNA, they can graduate and go right to work

@ByCoreyDavis Agreed. As a coach we have had games where we can't communicate with refs.

A proposal at the upcoming FHSAA Board of Directors Meeting Sunday and Monday is that at least one official in soccer speak English. How do we feel about this? Isn't this some sort of violation?

@Andy_Villamarzo In Pennsylvania that post would automatically make the athlete ineligible if he or she were in high school.

This isn’t uncommon around the country whatsoever for high school student-athletes.

Imagine a Florida where coaches are valued before the scoreboard says they should be. Where support is not reactive. It is built into the system. Year round. Intentional. Real. Imagine if school districts actually supported coaches year round instead of parading them around after they win state titles at school board meetings. Because recognition after the fact is not support. It is performance theater. Coaches are not part time pieces of our education system. They are the backbone of it. They develop culture. They mentor kids. They carry our schools long before anyone else shows up and long after the last teacher walks out the building. Yet too often they are underpaid, overlooked, and only acknowledged when it is convenient. We are building a Florida where coaches are funded, respected, and supported every single day. Not just when the trophies show up. Not just when the cameras are on. Every day. #PayFLCoaches

UWF wins 25 games and a GSC tourney championship in men's hoops and releases its coach....That is stunning.

@HashtagChad Agreed. Having done work for the LPGA for 15+ years there were so many opportunities to tell stories and show off the players that were missed. Not just LPGA but EPSON Tour as well.

I'm a few weeks into the role and already convinced: the @LPGA is one of the most under-leveraged storytelling opportunities in sports. World-class athletes. Global reach. A fanbase that's passionate and growing. The infrastructure is there — what we're building now is the content and engagement engine to match it. When I told my 7-year-old daughter I was leaving Dude Perfect, I lost major cool points for about 10 minutes. Then I told her I was joining the LPGA — and she lit up. That moment pretty much captures everything I’m striving to do in this role. Build a league that the next generation of fans, especially young girls, actually care about and feel connected to.

@Coach_Cason1 @CoachMikeHayde Yep. Hopefully they will do the right thing in time. At the very least, districts should allow contributions from boosters/3rd parties to go to those in the extracurricular supervisor roles.
