A Don Cherry story. Don often appeared on my radio program over the years including just days after he was callously shoved from Coach's Corner which Don had shared with some other guy for years. This Don Cherry story mostly happened in the background. During Canada's military engagement in the Afghanistan war a friend and former Hamilton police officer whose stepson served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan called to ask if Don might be willing to part with signed photos for his stepson and his buddies in uniform. I called Don and asked. "Roy, come to the house this evening." I would leave later with a large box "for the boys." Inside were signed shirts, cut down hockey sticks, pucks and the requested autographed photos. I learned the shirts, sticks and pucks would then be featured at both indoor and outdoor versions of the Stanley Cup finals, Afghanistan CAF edition. It wasn't over yet though. Don found out when my friend's son and his buddies would be back in Canada and not only invited them to a Saturday night Maple Leafs game, but also interviewed these proud and in uniform Canadian soldiers at ice level for the national TV audience. I have only occasionally shared this Don Cherry memoir publicly, but today appears appropriate as finally Don is beginning to receive the recognition he has richly earned. The Order of Ontario has been confirmed by Premier Ford. Soon, hopefully, Canadians from coast to coast will learn Don is to become a most deserving Member of The Order of Canada. There's another person who I think must be recognized and for his friendship and never wavering full public support for Don Cherry. That person is Toronto Sun columnist Joe Warmington. While many others allowed Don to slide below the horizon @joe_warmington, always in Don Cherry's corner, never did. Enjoy the Order of Ontario, Don. You earned it.

For the record, I didn't understand a word of the Bad Bunny show, but I thought it was really good. Loved the storytelling aspect.

The people who hated the Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show are the same that hated the Kendrick show, the Usher Show, the Rhianna show, the Hip Hop show (Snoop, Dre, 50, Mary J, etc) & The Weekend show. They liked JLo & Shakira, because. T & A, but they Loved the Maroon 5 show.

The same people that complain about not being able to understand the lyrics at the SuperBowl halftime show, would have their hands down their pants in excitement for not being able to understand the lyrics of a Pearl Jam Halftime Show. P.S. Not intended as an insult to PJ

Sad fact. I once paid to see Kid Rock live. To be fair, it was really to see Rev Run from Run DMC, who performed with the hillbilly.
