Luke Hancock leads the team in home runs (5) and slugging among starters (.635) as well as being tied for the team lead with RBI (18) and batting average (.308). But did you know that he also leads the squads in walks (15) and fewest strikeouts (4)? He's been the total package.

@RobbyDonoho Gonna guess that “other kid” was probably @jacobmc_30 but yes we knew as an 8th grader who started every game he would be doing the things he showed this weekend.

Pretty sure @scottg3 can attest to that story. Can’t remember who it was against but it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever witnessed. And Luke was a FRESHMAN.

When Luke Hancock was a freshman at Houston HS, I remember one AB a kid sitting next to me said “watch him take this pitch yard.”
Sure enough - Luke smacked first pitch to dead center, it hit off the top of the batter’s eye. 400+ feet. Said it right there: he’s gonna be a star.
