@YoshiYoshikazoo @NI_News I usually load them in Komplete Control via Battery, when I'm not working in Maschine. I've found that's the easiest way to work with them in my DAW.

@hypercubexl I've had this on DVD for like 15 years. It includes the truly absurd line "Who made you a doctor? The Grim Reaper?" Mark Hamill looks like a certified badass in it.

What ridiculously expensive thing is on your wish list? If Santa wanted to send me a mirrorless camera for Christmas this year, I'd leave the front door unlocked for him to put it under the tree. 🎄

@wpmodder Oh, and the free synths and samples I mentioned aren't bundled with Reaper. Available for any DAW.

@wpmodder If you go with a midi controller and software synths running on the PC, you should get an affordable audio interface because the built in sound card will have latency and that makes playing less fun. If you go that route, interface may come with free DAW software.

Advice requested... Goal: Buy my son a midi synthesizer (or piano but I think a synth gives him more sound options???) and enable him to connect to PC for recording. Questions: Do I also need an "audio interface" device? Best free PC audio software for intake/editing?

@wpmodder If it doesn't, Reaper is an excellent affordable DAW with an unlimited trial period, with a five second nag screen on load as the only limitation. There are great free software synths from U-He and sample libraries from Spitfire Audio. Good luck!

@michelleames My college doubled tuition from one year to the next a few years after I graduated, and I vowed I'd never give them another penny. Working out well so far.

My MBA school just called to ask for a donation. They charge $50k/year for the MBA. Education needs to stop begging grads for money & fix their systems. It took me YEARS as a single mom to pay off my undergrad loans. No one should have to incur that much debt for education.

@rlviser @RottenInDenmark A place I worked gave everyone step trackers and the building maintenance guy won, then joked that he attached the tracker to a cordless drill and left it running.
