@ListentoD @latlonging @136Division It’s Definately negative, but the question is should we value the few positives
English

@latlonging @136Division I cannot tell if your comment is positive or negative

An interesting point is that Blacks really do possess astonishing language talent.
At least when it comes to speaking mandarin, blacks perform far better than any other racial group — even better than native Chinese themselves.

The coach of African dance, her Mandarin is very standard and better than mine.😅😅

@louisamsiska The issues are broader than the numerical you’re well versed in, the MRA is an extension of the govt, the govt that seems to want a lot more while not creating an environment that a trader can grow more, security, transportation, forex etc c are yet to be resolved but they want $
English

Truth be told, if Malawi Revenue Authority bows to the traders, they’ll be practically sending a message that theft is tolerated in the country.
Traders play so much with VAT and the new system has sealed that loophole. More funny to me that people are actually going to the streets to force the authority to let them steal in peace 😂

@Aubrey_Senyolo Dude was applying to be a backup one moment then flipped the tables, Made Bustah the backup for his own song. Impressive
English

@DilletanteAnt You may then ask, then what going on here? it could be anything from a failed rental business, a government mandate to reduce clutter in the streets or pre/post holiday effects, nothing to do with the ev itself
English

@DilletanteAnt This video has nothing to do with what you’re saying, the video is misleading, the country where the vid is from, batteries for ev bikes are changed with fully charged ones almost every night, so if a battery is damaged or old, it can’t be thrown away with a random bike.

@Joomah476762 @ChikafaJnr Legally minimum ndi 5 thousand of 5million?
English

@riaanlombard11 @mrJay265 On paper, this makes sense. But on the ground, people have had access to legal FX but at black market rates, ie it wasn't scarce, you just didn't know the right people. This doesn't paint the picture of depletion, just greed from a select few.
English

@mrJay265 In theory yes — the central bank can sell forex to narrow the black-market gap. But in Malawi’s case reserves are razor-thin: last I checked, they covered less than a month of imports.
English

Devaluation?
When more and more people turn to the black market and stop believing the official exchange rate, the game is up. The black market is a symptom, the overvalued official rate is the disease, and forex scarcity is the fever it brings.
Governments can delay devaluation with controls, rationing, or depleting FX reserves. But the longer the official rate ignores reality, the sharper the eventual correction.

@bzequity100 With the mpatamanga project due for 2030, is it too late to open a solar farm with a purpose to sell to the national grid?
English

Sovereign Metals has signed an MoU with ESCOM to secure energy from renewable hydropower for its Kasiya Rutile-Graphite Project in Malawi.
This comes as the World Bank backs Malawi’s energy sector with a $350M grant for the Mpatamanga Hydropower Project, boosting grid capacity by 2030
