One year, one day, one hundred years. The pain of life without you feels both brand new and ancient. Some days I hear your voice in my head like I talked to you yesterday. Some days it feels like it’s been years since I held your warm hand in mine. We love you so, Chris.

Today we hugged Chris for the last time and said goodbye as he went to give four people the gift of life by donating his kidneys, liver and lungs. We are deeply broken and deeply proud. In life and in death, Chris never stopped giving. We walk forward with his light guiding us.

You have likely heard the phrase: “amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics” or something to that effect.
The utility of that phrase has progressively dwindled over the course of my career, so far.

@GrumpyInGeneral Amateurs use cliches like that one to make themselves feel better. The idea that tactics & logistics are on different levels is ridiculous. They are the same. Without a tactical action occurring there is nothing to sustain, & without sustainment there is no tactical action.

Went for our first ever ride/run with my daughter today. Hopefully the beginning of a new trend.
About 2.5km of intervals haha, but it was something and I think it will get better pretty quickly with some practice.
It requires a little more prep than normal, but worth it.

@WillNyTheSciGuy Although a very tragic accident, the driver sustained a serious traumatic brain injury and requires significant care now, so there wouldn’t be much point in laying charges.
You gotta feel for the families though
