Parkin Towers with my crew. Love music, film, rugby, cricket and a brew. Amazed by what communities can achieve with the right support. All views are my own.

Oh cool! I really enjoyed meeting Serina and the team last week - in real life in our Brighton office! - and talking about the labour market, our participation crisis, why sanctions are really bad and vacancies. You can watch the video here: inews.co.uk/news/universal…

Exactly right from Elizabeth. Employment services want to help people find the right job. Better for the person, the employer, economy and society. Priority should be more and better jobs support for more of those out of work, not stricter rules for the short term unemployed.

Graphs in a bit! Very disappointing figures today, despite any headlines you may see about "record employment" etc. Employment flat, inactivity up, recruitment problems for firms getting worse. We need a new Plan...

Lots of calls to shelve the April NICs hike. I agree - as I said below, it's the wrong tax at wrong time. Importantly tho, and a point being missed, is that workers will pay twice - as much of the employer hike (£250/yr on avg wages) will be passed on thru lower pay/ fewer jobs.
Tony Wilson@tonywilsonIES

On the National Insurance Levy, clearly right that we focus on distributional impact on households. But - it's also a ~£4bn rise in employer labour costs at a fragile point in the recovery, much of which will be passed on to workers. Govt hasn't published ALL the detail but 1/
