Aaron Judge said friends and family told him about the criticism that Team USA wasn't having as much fun as other WBC teams. “Everybody’s different. Every culture is different,” he said. “I loved everything that Mexico was doing, Great Britain, the D.R. How they celebrate the game, it was amazing. If they’re going to say we don’t have the passion – my passion is grinding in this [batting] cage when nobody’s watching. “You know, grinding as a 6-year-old in the backyard with my dad. That’s where our passion came from as kids. If I don’t show it outwardly like that, it doesn’t mean I don’t love the game.”

A mom wanted to talk to me about her D1 son. He’s struggling; not finding support. His coaches aren’t encouraging. In fact, they ignore him. Athletes…careful what you wish for. D1 baseball is a cutthroat. The coaches often don’t see you as a person but a resource to exploit.

@GowagsKyle Machines are great for replicating game speed, something the majority of coaches fail to do at 60’, especially important as opponent velo climbs. Reg BP off an arm creates variability, hitter has to make YES/NO decision that is absent off machine. Young hitters NEED both.
