@bseeley3 I think Protestants and Evangelicals (which I am) in particular struggle with this in a way Catholic and Orthodox believers do not. That is due to the emphasis of sacrifice as the primary motif of weekly worship. Christ was sacrificed, therefore we bring ourselves as a sacrifice.

@AliZYousuf Look up "myanmar scam centers" — It's freaky. There are thousands of trafficked humans performing scams for 16 hours a day in torturous conditions. Some might be comfortable people in an India call center, but a lot are not :( Check out podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sca…

@heynavtoor Can you really run Ollama on a mini-pc and 65 watts? Maybe a mini model.

🚨Someone just open sourced a computer that works when the entire internet goes down. It's called Project N.O.M.A.D. A self-contained offline survival server with AI, Wikipedia, maps, medical references, and full education courses. No internet. No cloud. No subscription. It just works. Here's what's packed inside: → A local AI assistant powered by Ollama (works fully offline) → All of Wikipedia, downloadable and searchable → Offline maps of any region you choose → Medical references and survival guides → Full Khan Academy courses with progress tracking → Encryption and data analysis tools via CyberChef → Document upload with semantic search (local RAG) Here's the wildest part: A solar panel, a battery, a mini PC, and a WiFi access point. That's it. That's your entire off-grid knowledge station. 15 to 65 watts of power. Works from a cabin, an RV, a sailboat, or a bunker. Companies sell "prepper drives" with static PDFs for $185. This gives you a full AI brain, an entire encyclopedia, and real courses for free. One command to install. 100% Open Source. Apache 2.0 License.

The number of people who clearly use AI to craft basic posts on this site, and replies to posts, is pretty shocking. Once you learn how to spot AI writing, you see it absolutely everywhere on here. It’s unmistakable. The tech has existed for 10 seconds and already huge swaths of people have completely given up on even the simplest forms of creative writing.

@SoveyX If I am 1000 light years away from where I got the thing and I have my kids... no way I am going all the way back. Why bring skin color into this, for real???

@bhavyajain18 @amasad It can sometimes reduce workforce, but you still need people who know what they are doing. Imagine if everybody had access to land, materials, and construction equipment and they could tell it what to do—That will not equal buildings that are scalable, maintainable, and secure.

@amasad Crazy. Only thing I don't understand is, why advanced AI models are not reducing workforce in software development industry? Like is growth of Industry greater than efficiency achieved or industry is not properly calibrating as there is no shock wave? What am I missing?

Has anyone successfully shifted themselves from a night person to a morning person, if so how? I feel like I'm best at working & being focused from around 6 pm to 4 am, but that does not work well with the rest of society
