lean ethereum. we had this so many times, and yes, ethereum is on another design mentality and on another position when it comes to creating value. but I do not agree with this model, as it results in bad user experience and in bad security / safety. if ethereum is lean, it yields in other companies building more on top of that, as ethereum is not building. this creates an opportunity, but not for the good reasons in the end. people come and use bad standards, bad centralised policies, a lot of bugs because opcodes are lean, because a payment is not a payment object, because smart contracts are not objects and interfaces, because the whole thing is stuck in the ice age, still not scaling. in the era of agentic development, where big companies are creating full stacks so that the consumers can enjoy their best life, going lean is the total opposite of this. and we have seen that non development resulted in the L2 layer, which is not even aligned with ethereum, it is just copy paste and centralised DBs working. no decentralisation ethos at all. users fragmented, liquidity fragmented, people losing tons of money, a lot of hacks, a big cabal for integrations and money. compared to this, if the system scales by design, it is secure by design, you have objects for transactions, contracts, agents, whatever, the companies / builders building on top of the system can focus more on actual users, and they do not need to build another base layer and connect with bridge and all the stupidities. sharding, safe complex VM, payments, transactions, on chain 2FA, full decentralisation should be given by the L1, at the base level, so that people can build actual products. too many years and money was spent on building just another L2, just another L3, because that was the motto, and in 2026 we are here, with no consumer facing fully decentralised applications which create value, as everyone was focused on base layer builds, as the ethereum core decided to go only leaner and leaner.
