Europe is destroying itself. This time it is Italy. At the end of August 2025, a man from Gambia raped a 60 year old woman as she walked near a park in Rome, Italy at 6am. The rape was so violent that she sustained two broken ribs but managed to get herself to a hospital. She reported it immediately and the man was seen on CCTV (photo below). His name appears to be protected for some reason as it does not appear in news reports. He has admitted the rape, saying he did it but was not responsible as he was on crack cocaine at the time. A few days later he also attacked a 44 year old woman as she waited at a bus stop on Via Prenestina, Rome. He pretended to ask her for a cigarette then dragged her into an alleyway where he raped her. He arrived in Italy in 2016 under a humanitarian permit and was given residence in 2024. Currently, he is in an Italian prison as he is a possible flight risk and considered to be a danger to women. No sentencing date appears to be set. The evidence is very strong against him - not just the confession for the first rape but victim identifications, CCTV and DNA on his clothing found at his residence linked to the victims. Will he be deported? Probably not. Will he even get a reasonable sentence? Probably not.
