It has been eight years since Joe Thomas' last season. Different positions, but ... it strikes me as interesting that Pittsburgh's new quarterback is a year and two days older than No. 73.

For entertainment, this is my favorite Browns draft of the expansion era. And maybe the ones I saw from the previous era.

Browns leadership: Uber-serious. Perceived state of the franchise: Boring, tone-deaf. Suggestion: Do something really fun. For example, go out of your way to draft Harold Fannin.

Bowling Green's HC got Harold Fannin to stay by promising him his 2024 would either get him a million at Ohio State or Michigan in 2025, or a nice spot in the draft. VERY nice pick by the Browns.

P.A. guy at Akron Rubber Ducks game announced Browns' pick. Crowd booed. P.A. guy quick on his feet: "Don't shoot the messenger."

@daz_blue Influenced by research of the 2016 trade out of the No. 2, mistrusting what really would come of the 39 and 41, I don't think I would.

@sdoerschukREP Question, if the Bears offered 10, 39 and 41 for 2 would you do it ?

#StadiumDraftEtc One thing that is so exhausting is that for years the Browns felt like “Modell’s team.” And now these years of feeling like “Haslam’s team.” For all their faults, the Lerners had more “it’s your team” in them.

#InTheYear2000 We often debate “good owners” at my house. Part of the equation: Winning seasons this century. Scoreboard: Cavs 14, Indians/Guardians 14, Browns 4.

Happened to be at Kent State-at-Pitt football game. During a break, scoreboard showed clips of ex-Pitt guys playing NFL games. Cheers. Got to Kenny Pickett. Boos. Who knew KP was headed for duty in CLE?

Perspective on Cavs’ spectacular .844 win percentage (54-10): Translates to 136-26 across a full Guardians season.

To whom it may concern at X: Please ask Mr. Musk if he has ever considered buying an NFL team.

That’s a wrap from Indy and my 32nd #NFLCombine. Seen a lot of changes over the years. The prospects keep getting faster and more explosive, the trick is figuring out which ones want to master their crafts, are 100% committed to their future team and want to become true pros!

Cavs 50-10. An .833 winning percentage. When I was in school 83% was a B-minus. But I think we’ll cut the boys some slack on this one.

Welcome to Thursday almost the weekend!! She ripples on the water Leaves diamonds on the shore And fish from every distance Watch her ocean cellar door Her breath a warm fire In every lovers heart A mistress to magicians And a dancer to the gods…

#InTheAir The seventh game of a World Series was Herb Score's last call for Cleveland. Wish Jim Donovan had had something like that ... more than an occasional "run William run." But Jim is at peace with his work, I hope.

If I had a prize, I'd run an essay contest. "What is a typical Browns fan in these strange times?"
