In the end, this #Nuggets team, from the head coach down, seemed more interested in playing the way they wanted to, rather than playing winning basketball based on their opponent.
Happened all season long… they created their own fate, and they deserve it. Long offseason on tap.

The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. ESPN details: espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

Until they find a way for bad teams to retain the star players they drafted, they’re just creating the mess that baseball has now: 2/3rd of the league are nothing but farm teams for the rich ones in big markets.
This decision makes the above scenario more likely. It’s a mistake.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said on a recent Competition Committee call, according to sources: "We should have a system where you should hate to lose. It shouldn't be a badge of honor. Losing should be uncomfortable." The new change is not as drastic as relegation to a lower league -- but a penalty for being at the bottom. Many league executives understand this may be an overcorrection, but one the majority believes is necessary.
