All you need to do is read the comments to have a better understanding of the state of the discourse. If you take a look at nearly any pro's leaguepedia or ask them of their experiences in esports it'll be rigged with tier 3, tier 2, ERL tier 2, collegiate experiences. If they're good enough to play, and are the best in tryouts they should play. That should be obvious, but people will always find new reasons to hide their underlying one.
