@sportsnetkyle @FriedgeHNIC goalie masks are designed for buckles to come off. This is how a large part of the energy is released from the shot to prevent damage to the head. Once buckles are undone, the mask doesn’t protect anymore. Impossible to put them back on during play

Hey @ryanwhitney6. I think Oilers’ best goaltending solution is already within the organization. Connor Ingram was projected to be starting goalie for Team Canada at 4 nations beginning of last season. He has his mental health issues which lead to a poor season.

@ryanwhitney6 to your point about goalies being good one year and off the next, being a goalie is like golfing. You can’t really try harder to make an impact, and definitely can’t run a guy in the corner to get going . Mental part of the game is way more important

goalie helmets are not designed for body contact. Back of goalies legs are also not protected at all… these calls may lead to a cut like Anthony Stolarz had in junior! I understand the league wants more goals, but to what cost? These aren’t hockey plays!
