A war between Victorian magicians spills into modern London. Rob, a werewolf, and Julian, a warlock, just wanted to go to the pub after work. The Clock Strikes is out now on Amazon: viewbook.at/theclockstrikes

Googling "hiccup vs hiccough" took me down a peculiar rabbit hole. Next time you hiccup, or hiccough, blame elves.

On the one hand, my copy of this book is on the other side of the world. On the other hand, I could just buy the ebook...

Need a challenge to throw at my characters. A dust storm? Nah. A Siberian tiger? Meh. A weasel that rides dust devils and has scythes for paws? Sorted.

My background music for work this afternoon is the ambient music from Mulgore in World of Warcraft. Don't know why, but it's working for me. youtube.com/watch?v=x1U5sH…

@PhilSpeculates Mirror universe? Sure, that's just everyone being the most evil version of themselves. Easy to believe. Godlike alien illusionists? Bonkers, especially when you plonk it into a series that sticks to fairly modern scifi ideas.

@seanacron Me too. That opening montage had me wondering if I'd selected the right episode! But loved the way they tied it together. Great writing.

Star Trek Discovery Season 2 Episode 8 is a reminder of just how damned weird the original series could be. I probably enjoyed it for that reason as much as anything.

@Petermball on Todd Henry’s Accidental Creative and why writers should limit their forward planning to three months, instead of a year.

Corpse roads often crossed streams or rivers because people thought spirits, like vampires, couldn't cross running water, making it hard for them to return home after burial. More corpse roads -> icysedgwick.com/corpse-roads/ #folklorethursday
