In Texas they told me to stop at Buc-ee's for gas. I have been to shrines. I have stood in temples that took two hundred years to build. I was not prepared for the gas station. There were one hundred and twenty fuel pumps. I counted them because I did not believe them. A man beside me was filling a truck the size of my first apartment, and he was not filling it because it was empty. He was filling it because he was here, and here is where a man fills things. Inside was a hall so vast I lost the horizon. A wall of jerky. A wall of fudge I did not know the country produced. A brisket sandwich handed to me by a man in a beaver costume. And I want to be clear, the beaver is not a mascot. The beaver is a saint. The people speak of him the way my grandmother spoke of the mountain behind her house. And the bathrooms. I had been warned about the bathrooms and I had dismissed the warning as the pride of a loud people. I was wrong to dismiss it. The bathrooms are famous across the whole state and they have earned it. I have slept in worse hotels. I nearly bowed upon entering. A janitor was polishing the floor with the devotion of a man tending a garden he loved, and when I thanked him he said "welcome in," which I have since learned is what Texas says instead of hello, and also instead of I am glad you exist. I went in for gas. I was inside for ninety minutes. I came out with fudge, a shirt printed with a joke I do not fully understand, forty dollars of jerky, and a feeling I can only describe as having been to church. I did not need any of it. I needed all of it. I have walked through the great cathedrals of the old world. I lit no candle there. I lit no candle at Buc-ee's either. But I did fill the truck. And I understand now that in Texas, this is the same thing.

The Rangers have sent out e-mails with instructions on how to switch from Victory to BZZR, pretty easy process. One cool feature about BZZR, there is a live chat during the game feed. The mid-season switch is a little frustrating, but the platform genuinely seems really cool.

Why does consuming sports have to be the world’s biggest pain in the ass? To watch everything I enjoy, I now need YouTube TV, Paramount +, ESPN +, Amazon, Sunday Ticket, Peacock, Victory, and now whatever the hell BZZR is. Good lord make it stop.

Bottom line on Rangers move from Victory+ to BZZR: If you paid for Victory+, you will not have to pay anything additional

@RBaldwin7032 Other movies that were as good as or better than the book: Shawshank Redemption (much better than the book); Stand By Me (the book and movie were very close); The Princess Bride (exactly like the book)

E. Jean Carroll was just paid more than $5.6 million by the sitting president of the United States after a jury found him liable for sexually abusing her and a federal judge clarified that what he did was rape. That should be the biggest story in the country today. The president raped a woman. She took him to court. And she won. VIA @theZachBerger

Did you know that Lindsey Graham was only 21 years old when he lost both of his parents? After his mother died of cancer and his father passed away from a heart attack about 15 months later, Lindsey was suddenly left to care for his 13-year-old sister, Darline, while he was still a college student. He later legally adopted her so she could receive military benefits while he served in the Air Force. Whatever your politics, that’s an extraordinary responsibility for someone so young to carry. Please say a prayer for his sister, Darline, as she mourns the loss of the brother who she described as, “kind of like a brother, a father and a mother rolled into one.”

🚨 Senator Lindsey Graham has passed away at the age of 71 following a brief and sudden illness. Regardless of where you stood politically, Senator Lindsey Graham leaves behind a consequential legacy in the U.S. Senate. His career was defined by his influence on the federal judiciary, national security, military affairs, and foreign policy. For more than two decades, he remained one of the most recognizable and influential voices in Congress. His passing comes as the country continues to await official updates on Senator Mitch McConnell’s health following his reported emergency hospitalization on June 14th. Questions about McConnell’s condition has intensified after 28 days without detailed public information and his wife’s (Elaine Chao) urgent trip to China where she met with the CCP… speculation centers on whether McConnell is dead or alive. May Senator Lindsey Graham rest in peace.

When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain. A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.” That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love. I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.

This story deserves more attention. If you are a supporter of these prediction markets then you WANT this to be a high profile prosecution so folks know that insider trading and deal-making manipulation is a crime. That said, it’s unsettling to see the DoJ go after this kind of insider deal-making but totally ignoring the insider deal making going on with various electeds, Cabinet members and their kids.

This is the closest thing to magic that real physics gets. Scientists removed all the air from the world's largest vacuum chamber, dropped a bowling ball and feathers together, and proved Galileo right 400 years later:
