The Cluckening will be rated NC-97. If you haven't personally participated in a World War, you may not be prepared for the carnage to come. #Litecoin

Many can project a msg about being more decentralized, affordable, fast & adopted, but can't do it. Litecoin is more decentralized, affordable, fast & adopted, but can't project that msg to the financial markets. Choose your fighter. All hat & no cattle, or all cattle & no hat.

Litecoin is the breath of fresh air this space needs. It embodies principles of sound money, promotes native fungibility and privacy for all, has enjoyed unrivalled adoption since inception (which has only accelerated vs btc and eth in the last 5 years in particular), presents a unique asymmetric value proposition for investors, all the while facilitating trillions in $ transaction volumes for users. The only lagging aspect to btc was its network effects, but those days are gone.

@CathieDWood Solana is the purest garbage in crypto. There is 0 reason for nasdaq to use a centralized scamcoin factory when they could build their own. Real world network effects are what you have to return to, there's been an incredible shift you haven't noticed yet.

This upgrade seems important from a global monetary system perspective. Balancing supply and demand should lower inflation and increase the utility of the network, if I understand this proposal correctly.

0/6 What is SIMD-228? And why does it matter for @solana ? SIMD-228 is a proposal to make Solana’s inflation market-driven instead of following a fixed disinflation schedule. It aims to optimize staking incentives & minimize unnecessary sell pressure.

@ChrisOnCrypto1 I'm less worried about ceasing updates than starting them, what adware/IAPs they might add, features they might remove. If my $10 streaming dongle gets downgraded against my will, I can trash it & get sth else, no sweat. If my TV gets borked, I'm stuck. I never connect a tv.

I don't want a 'smart' tv that needs to be updated every other week either. What happens when the updates stop? Junk.

@imb1ts Money cannot buy happiness. It can relieve some unhappiness, but even that has a lower ceiling than most imagine. Gratitude can buy far more happiness. Even in very dark times there's much to be thankful for.

ripple unlocks = 1B XRP/month or $2.4B That’s a lot of supply to absorb by the market with an unclear source for future growth. I’m not the most educated around ripple’s tech but I do understand the market in which it competes and the opportunity for disruption seems low. LTC mining rewards = 27,000 LTC/month or $2.5M. This is relatively tiny compared to future expected demand in a scenario in which bitcoin’s value prop becomes realized by the masses. I think the external global environment is heading towards a sudden realization of the value in permissionless money. Total addressable market for XRP - if you look at combined total value of the top credit layer networks and payment processors (visa, Mastercard, Amex, and top 35 processors like PayPal, Fisserv, Global Payments) you get $1.78T. Govt monopolized credit systems like Fedwire (owned by the fed) aren’t replaceable by XRP/ripple. Total Addressable Market for Bitcoin Chains - in 2022 I looked extensively for the total value of money in the world and estimates were around $150T. Black market share of this estimated at 15-20%, but can grow significantly if the tech reduces the risk to individuals, so 30T. Total addressable market for LTC (2nd most dominant Bitcoin chain) - .25 btc or higher if it continues its growth trajectory. It will likely pass btc in number of daily users on the next spike in btc tx demand. If it starts to import higher value btc transactions, the game is over for btc white market, NgU, institutional adoption speculators. Network effects will be such that LTC will become the higher utility bitcoin chain.

Bitcoin is open source, so it can be copied and launched again and again as long as there's demand. That happened with LTC in 2011. If the market didn't want a second bitcoin chain then nobody would use it in favor of btc and it would go to zero. So why has LTC's rate of growth (not in price but in monetization) these last 7 years outpaced BTC and LN combined? Credit doesn't scale a money. these guys are still pushing this after 0 success over 10 years and sinking so much capital into a product with a flaky value proposition. Bitcoin is permissionless money, and so building products that rely on permissioned systems will inevitably fail. Any centralized company built to offer bitcoin services will fail if bitcoin actually delivers on its value prop.

There’s no better Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the immaculate conception, the Big Bang of digital assets. It cannot be recreated. What it lacks in functionality can be built on L2s like Lightning and @buildonspark. Trying to build a better Bitcoin is a fool’s errand.

@lite_hause Culture matters too. Not fond of some btc culture lately, but the broad deep support for fixed monetary policy is important & shared by ltc w/o the recent toxic microsaylorism. DOGE has an interesting claim to a different flavor of soundness, but ltd awareness in their community.

I support all fairly launched proof-of-work coins, however, I believe Litecoin is the best positioned. Put simply, it covers most bases, whereas other coins tend to lack key properties required for a functional payments system. Bitcoin? Too expensive for payments, and people hardly use it as money anymore. Layer-two scaling solutions haven’t been as successful as some had hoped, despite millions in VC money pouring into the infrastructure. It’s mostly promoted as a store of value now, and it hasn’t scaled particularly well. Dogecoin? Focusing on payments is a great goal. Dogecoin offers cheaper fees than Bitcoin and has a positive community. However, it lacks privacy features—an essential aspect of a monetary network. You can’t be an efficient payments coin if paying for a coffee allows the cashier to see all the Dogecoin you hold. This transparency creates a vulnerability. Monero? Excellent privacy. However, because it’s private on layer one, it has been delisted from hundreds of exchanges. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does categorize Monero as a more obscure, “low-key” payment solution, primarily used by technical users due to limited mainstream integration. Getting Monero onto major payment platforms will be an uphill battle, as will liquidity and accessibility. Now, why do I like Litecoin? Because it covers most bases. It’s the middle ground between these options—widely integrated, has extremely cheap fees (even lower than Dogecoin’s), and offers improved scalability along with optional privacy via MWEB. MWEB allows you to pay in public without revealing how much you own or how much is being sent. It’s also simple to use—just copy and paste an MWEB address. Several payment platforms have declared Litecoin their most-used coin for transactions (e.g., BitPay), while others have ranked it in their top three—outpacing nearly every other cryptocurrency. On-chain metrics, such as USD volume transacted, show Litecoin rapidly catching up to Bitcoin in usage. Yet, the price hasn’t reflected this. I’m convinced that Litecoin’s market cap ranking is the only thing holding it back from being included in major crypto discussions (e.g., government crypto reserves). Technically speaking, it is the one true original crypto-commodity after Bitcoin. In the past two months, renowned analysts have “suddenly” started discussing Litecoin due to its price surge—demonstrating how quickly narratives can shift. Market caps change fast, and I often wonder how an approved Litecoin ETF would reshape the conversation. So far, Bloomberg analysts believe Litecoin is the most likely candidate for SEC approval. Litecoin is the digital silver to Bitcoin’s gold. Its user activity has continued to rise relative to Bitcoin, creating a price/network activity discrepancy that several analysts are watching. Will this eventually trigger an upward price pull? Time will tell.
