The Moon isn't just a rock in the sky. It's the reason you exist. Without it, Earth would wobble out of control. Days would shrink to a few chaotic hours. Tides would vanish. Life as we know it would never have evolved. It sits 238,855 miles away at 2,288 mph And the wild part: it's slowly escaping. The Moon moves about 3.8 centimeters farther from Earth every single year. Its surface holds footprints that will outlast every human civilization. With no wind, no rain, no erosion, the boot prints from Apollo 11 in 1969 are still perfectly preserved up there. The same Moon that lit up the path of every ancient traveler is the exact one glowing outside your window tonight. Caesar saw it. Cleopatra saw it. Your great-great-grandparents saw it. It has watched empires rise, oceans shift, and entire species come and go, all without saying a word. A silent witness to everything.

@allaroundanne @archeohistories I was there recently and found the complete opposite. One cat was a bit skittish but the rest were receptive to loving. One was even in the little gift shop sleeping on shirts for sale 😻

Cat lovers should be aware that the cats at Hemingway's house are now completely feral. You can't just walk in and pet them. They are taken care of by staff- meaning fed and watered but NOT petted. These are NO longer pets and if you try to pet them they bite and scratch. It's a big disappointment for cat lovers. But, there are many beautiful kitties with the big feet- so adorable.

American author Ernest Hemingway was undoubtedly one of the most famous cat lovers in the literary world, alongside Mark Twain, who adored cats so much that he avoided people who didn’t share his affection and even rented cats when he couldn’t bring his own on trips. Many are familiar with Hemingway’s home in Key West, Florida, which is now home to around 60 cats. His first polydactyl cat, named Snow White (or Snow), was a gift from a ship captain and sparked Hemingway’s lifelong love for these unique felines. Today, many of the cats at the Hemingway House are descendants of Snow, and they are lovingly cared for by the staff. The house is a must-visit destination for both literature enthusiasts and cat lovers. A charming tradition at the Hemingway House is that all the cats, following Snow, are named after famous figures, including Mark Twain, who was a significant literary influence on Hemingway. As Hemingway once said, “A cat has absolute emotional honesty: humans may hide their feelings, but a cat does not.” #archaeohistories

In Zhuzhou, China, the world's first railless tram operates on virtual tracks, eliminating the need for physical rails. This innovative streetcar can travel up to 70 km/h and carry as many as 500 passengers.
