Ed Brubaker, co-creator of the Winter Soldier, shared how happy he is that Bucky has been embraced by LGBTQ+ fans: “Bucky and the Winter Soldier, as a character, are a huge thing to the gay community, and I am so f*cking happy. Like, how rare is it that you are part of creating something that is part of the culture that bleeds to the point where it’s almost counterculture.”

Ed Brubaker recalled how he and Steve Epting, creators of the Winter Soldier, were denied entry to the ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ premiere party in 2014 before Sebastian Stan helped them to get in: “They were like, “you’re not on the list”. This whole movie is based on our work. I’m in the movie. I can’t believe I have to text the star of the movie to get into the after-party.
