The most important trip of my life. 🇺🇦
The day Russia began their full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I was in shock.
I saw the bigger picture. They were not simply trying to erase the idea of Ukraine, but they were also at war with the west, including my own country.
For two years I kept donating to the Ukrainian cause whenever I had some spare cash, yet I kept wishing I could do more.
When my friend suggested that we could go there and volunteer, It didn’t take long for me to jump at the opportunity.
We found an organization in Kyiv that needed assistance, booked our tickets and told only a few people where we were heading.
We arrived to the most wonderful community kitchen, where people of all ages and nationalities come to cook dried meals for soldiers, even while Iranian drones and Russian ballistic missiles continue to pose a threat to the city.
We met so many kind, resilient people who made us feel welcome. The experience was overwhelming at times, and I had to spend time to process the stories and the emotions I witnessed.
I loved every day of our stay, and I hope that my next visit can be made as a tourist. (And preferably during summer 🥶)

Ant’s Kitchen @ants_kyiv was founded by Konstantin & Oksana, and they have delivered more than half a million rations so far.
With this massive support for the armed forces of Ukraine, they have made significant impact in the fight for freedom.
However, every month is a struggle with high electricity costs.
I have personally donated to them, and this Christmas I would like to ask for anyone with the financial ability to help them out, even if it’s just a small amount. 🎄🎅🏻
