@tobycrockford23 you’re probably one of the top 100 most informed persons in Brisbane. Maybe top 50. Do you have an estimate, in Brisbane, during a typical busy week in 2024, roughly how many distinct Uber drivers provide one or more rides?

Linda Reynolds won’t be satisfied that everyone knows how much she supports SA survivors, until she has subpoenaed, bullied, threatened, and legislated against *every* last SA survivor.

Linda Reynolds can prove that Brittany Higgins has “mischaracterises” these proceedings as being an attempt by Senator Reynolds to silence sexual assault survivors (plural) when they are only about one SA survivor. And to prove it, she will subpoena another SA survivor.

Linda Reynolds and her lawyer should accuse Linda Reynolds and her lawyer of conspiring to make it look like Linda Reynolds and her lawyer try to silence victims of crime by trying to silence victims of crime.

Did our founding comp sci mathematicians get railroaded into thinking in terms of springs and sprockets and chains and belts and loops? And so on to us today ?

Early calculating devices were based on gears and sprockets and wheels and so on. Modular arithmetic featured heavily.
Is there a direct descent between those cogs and our present day “for” loops?

Markets are shaken. Airlines grounded. An entire world now holds its breath, a moment of silence for a king among hamsters, as Azurian SREs `grep` hopelessly through `man` files, beads of persp. on every brow.

The chief bugler of Azure Data Centre 1 blows a long and sonorous note on his ceremonial infrasonic bagpipes—audible only to small rodents—but understood at once by every hard-working hamster in that clamouring DC, that this melancholy tone signals, alas, dear Pippy has fallen.

This just in — hearing various reports that Pippy has died. Yes, Pippy, that brave little hamster who for the last 8 years, despite his aging knee joints, has been bravely running and running on that tiny wheel in the centre of Azure Data Centre 1, rack 1, machine 1;

One of the great things about @timesnapper is that we also offer support in Icelandic. It catches 50% of us by surprise when it happens but it happens.

@shanselman @GossiTheDog @laheinzen Scott, TimeSnapper requires explicit ongoing consent of the end user. Microsoft should’ve understood why that matters Long before all the public uproar.

Thanks. Nope, it’s not my product or flaw. It’s also similar to Spotlight, RescueTime, TimeSnapper, and other apps that index work for retrieval, all stored in local databases. If a user has admin (as I did) and uses UAC for elevation (as I did) to get to files (that’s how it’s done) they’ll access their own files (appdata is where they go). As long as it’s opt-in! But still - keep the positive pressure on

@ICooper @sinclairinat0r @timesnapper TimeSnapper explicitly requires the users informed and continual consent. Any “customer” who doesn’t get this is in breach of the license, we revoke their registration code and inform them they need to uninstall the app. This is a critical aspect of TimeSnapper.

@sinclairinat0r And apps like @timesnapper have been around for years, and used by many folks without critical security breaches occurring afaik.

The wild recourse over Recall is about to make me mute it. It's not even officially available yet, and the amount of sudden security experts (I mean those who are suddenly concerned with security only when it involves something from MS) are off the charts lol.
