The thing that sets Christianity apart from other religions is the continuity of its ecclesiastical property.

It is not until you go ashore and wander in the native quarter, where vice in every form stalks naked and unashamed, that you realize that the town is like a beautiful harlot, whose loveliness of face and figure belie the evil in her heart.

Is religion constitutive of politics or is religion residual after being excluded from politics? What is the relationship between the religious and the political.

Lol. Now apparently secularism has charge and has signs - positive and negative too. Soon, it will become complex and have real and imaginary parts too. Then, it will become a complex vector and have direction too. And then it will become a tensor in infinite dimensional space. The definition of secularism is fluid in Indians like how wokes see gender. Secularism originally meant the freedom of Christian monarchs or princes to choose their religion within Christianity [Catholicism or Lutheranism or Calvinism etc] and the freedom of subjects to choose their religion [again within Christianity] no matter what their king is professing. Secularism has shifting definitions in Indian discourse. 1. Freedom of religion 2. Separation of state from religion 3. All religions are equal 4. Sarva-dharma-sambhava 5. Militant Atheism / rationalism Liberals, Please decide what definition you wanna choose and stick it. Don't shift goalposts. @labstamil

"One of the key epistemic and institutional logics of the secular is its commitment to religion as a matter of privately held and internally processed belief." —John Lardas Modern

This legal regime granted the Church special rights regarding property. These rights are not found in the analogues of the other traditions.

The development of res ecclesiasticae represented a significant innovation in Roman property law, creating a new category that shared some characteristics with traditional res sacrae but had its own distinct legal regime.

What makes Christianity religiously unique? The simple answer is the Church.
