@ShidelerK testimony to the U.S. Senate: “Until recently, the federal government has failed to define the extensive nature of this threat and has demonstrated a history of dismissing or reducing charges against left-wing extremists.”

America’s 250th birthday has passed. The work of keeping the republic has not. @securefreedom ‘s America at 250 series reflects on Franklin, Washington, the Declaration, the Constitution, civic courage, foreign influence, faith, freedom, economic strength, and the responsibility of preserving America.

America’s founding principles did not only shape a new political order. They helped make possible extraordinary economic strength, innovation, opportunity, and national power. In this America at 250 reflection, Dr. Andrei Illarionov examines the economic dominance of the United States. centerforsecuritypolicy.org/the-american-e…

George Washington warned that foreign influence was one of the most dangerous threats to republican government. That warning belongs not only to the founding era. It belongs to ours. In today’s America at 250 reflection, @JMichaelWaller explains why Washington’s warning remains urgent.

America is not just another nation. Our Declaration, Constitution, and republican form of government rest on principles that remain exceptional and worth defending. In today’s America at 250 reflection, @CHoltonCSP reminds us why Americans must never forget who we are.

1/4 250 years ago today, 56 founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. The occasion of this momentous “birthday” of our great Republic brings me back to my own 18th birthday, when I took an Oath to preserve the country they helped establish –swearing to defend the U.S. Constitution from all its enemies, foreign and domestic– as a U.S. Marine.

Today America marks 250 years of independence. We celebrate with gratitude. We reflect with humility. And we recommit ourselves to the principles that made this republic possible: liberty, constitutional order, consent of the governed, and the courage to remain free. At @securefreedom, we believe keeping the republic requires more than memory. It requires vigilance, truth, preparedness, and a willingness to confront the threats that would weaken America from within and without.

George Washington knew that foreign subversion would be more dangerous to the survival of our country than foreign attack. My take on the under appreciated messages in his Farewell Address follows. 🧵

The American Revolution was not built by noise. It was built by truth, trust, disciplined correspondence, and organized citizens. In today’s America at 250 reflection, @ShidelerK looks at the Committees of Correspondence and what they teach an age drowning in information but starving for wisdom. centerforsecuritypolicy.org/the-revolution…
