Mariano shared some examples: by adopting paper packaging and supporting good recycling practices, McDonald's has reduced its use of plastic by as much as 1,000 tons per year, achieving a collection and recycling rate of up to 90%. #statigreen24

“In fact 75% of fibre-based packaging in Europe is made from recycled paper and paperboard. That’s 50 million tons that’s recycled and put back on the market, playing a very important role in the retail sector for example. All these aspects need to be considered.” @susdefItalia

“Lastly, we shouldn't forget the importance of recycled paper, including for secondary #packaging which isn't in contact with any food products. Paper can be recycled and reused up to 25 times and is widely recycled at 81% in Italy – well above the 75% EU target for 2025.”
