Time for my biannual tweet about how expensive Virginia Tech’s grad student fees are! This semester we hit $1700, so that’s $3400/yr out of our assistantships (after taxes). That’s 16% of base grad student salary😰

It was field trip day at #NAPC2024 today and I brought home this beauty from the Devonian Silica Shale in Milan, MI! Check out the texture on this trilobite cephalon (especially the eyes)🤩
