@okaythenfuture @caucroach Fucking even buying Thai ID cards. My brother who lived in Norway since child, came back to Thailand in order to get his Thai ID card made. Not easy because the Chinese have been bribing their way to get ID cards. He finally got it after our dad pulled some strings.

Korean and Japanese bros are the dominant genre of passport bro in Southeast Asia.
They by far once you add in Chinese passport bros far outnumber western passport bros.
Western passport bros are just very loud and obnoxious and can’t STFU about their lives, since most were incels in the West, making them seem overrepresented.
These countries entirely have their own sexual dynamics and westerners really don’t matter in the broad game.
The local sex industry in every Asian country by far mostly caters to locals or Asian looking males, who are the largest demand pool for these services.

@okaythenfuture Stop lying. Most Chinese, Japanese and Koreans in south east Asia are ordinary tourists. Western passport bros and sis, people exclusively there for sex tourism, far outnumber the rest.

@minilalabelle ผมในฐานะที่อยู่สมุย และมะพร้าวที่นี่มีชื่อเสียงโด่งดังว่าอร่อย ก็เคยไปกินมะพร้าวที่อยู่ในไทยเหมือนกัน มันก็ไม่ได้ว่าอร่อยทุกที่ เพราะฉะนั้นผมรู้ดีว่าจะไม่เหมารวม แค่ไปกินมาไม่กี่ที่ ก็ฟันธงได้ว่าทั้งประเทศอร่อยกว่าอีกประเทศหนึ่ง

The day was always coming and now it is here, Vietnam is now the second largest economy in Southeast Asia, taking the spot from Thailand which traditionally has held it since the 1970s. Thailand will likely never be this close to Vietnam ever again, Vietnam is probably going to become the last developed country from the Global South.

Just back from three weeks in China + Japan — back to back. The contrast was sharper than I expected and eye opening.
I recently wrote about China, this is now about Japan.
Japan: 43 million tourists a year. A currency that has lost a third of its value in five years. Less than 2% EV adoption. And streets that are somehow completely spotless with almost no public bins.
Japan is a country of fascinating paradoxes — 20 years later and after a week in China, I saw it with eyes I wouldn't have had otherwise. Five things I can't stop thinking about, including why Japan's "cheapness" is not a travel deal, but a symptom of something much bigger. 👇

@dalger2001 @mariekeflament If one goes out of the center, a car becomes quite essential. Japan isn't indeed the futuristic place it used to be like 20 years ago. Time has pretty much stood still. China has now become this futuristic place.

@mariekeflament Don't actually need a car in Japan. Suggesting Japan isn't modern or the smell of gas is in the air everywhere is a bit much. Might want to research where China's trains came from. The borrowed and then copied technology. No mention China's communist government or oppression.

ซึ่งปกติเขาดู GDP ตามตัวเงินจริง
แต่ถ้าเวียดนามยังโตเรทนี้ก็จะแซงไทยเร็วๆนี้แหละในแง่ GDP รวม แต่ต่อหัวก็ยังน้อยกว่าไทยเพราะประชากรเขามากกว่า
