Rubio is seen as a convenient figure — he is not associated with scandals and has not clashed with Trump.
He also has extensive experience across multiple roles.
His main rival is Vice President J.D. Vance.

A friend and I had tea this evening and talked.
I avoid discussing politics with friends, as I’m unaware of what's behind the scenes, but the topic arose, and we agreed the USA is declining, resembling a totalitarian regime. It’s the end of an era, and the country is declining rapidly.
Tourism and agriculture are ruined.
A Gestapo-like force harms immigrants, legal or not, often good, hardworking people.
The military targets US citizens in our cities, causing them distress and physical harm.
Countries like China, Mexico, and Canada form trade deals without the USA. Europe seeks independence too.
The world can function without the USA.
We both spent time in Asia this year; I just returned. We’ve seen the Middle East and other places.
The USA is not the world’s center. It was a country of freedom, but no longer. We have a dictator in charge, promoting aggression, hate, and cruelty, stripping away health insurance and other essentials from people, while filling up his pockets. This is a government for billionaires. It’s disgusting and obvious to anyone with intelligence. I see it too—truly unbelievable and sad.
