Our very own official Rarity Tool is live now! Let's break it down: Why we built our own rarity tool Most rarity tools treat NFTs as static JPEGs. Snapshot the metadata once, rank them, done. But Normies aren't static. They level up, earn Action Points, and evolve on-chain. A Normie that was common yesterday could be rare today. We needed a rarity system that stays alive, just like the Normies themselves. The math: Information Content scoring We use a method called Information Content (IC), borrowed from information theory. For each trait, we calculate IC = -log₂(frequency). If only 1% of Normies have "3D Glasses," that scores 6.64. If 97% are "Human," that scores just 0.04. The rarer the trait, the more bits of information it carries, and the higher the score. Every trait contributes to a total rarity score, no trait is ignored. Real-time, not a snapshot The tool fetches live data from the NormiesAPI and recalculates all rankings. When a Normie levels up, its rarity score updates automatically. When one gets burned, it's excluded entirely. What you see is always the current state of the collection. THE100 We also added a special filter for #THE100. A community created narrative, list of first 100 customised Normies that you can isolate with a single toggle. Filter them by rarity, check their levels, see which ones are listed. A quick way to track a specific set without scrolling through thousands. Live from OpenSea We also pull real-time listing data from OpenSea. You can filter by listed Normies, sort by price, and see live updates when something sells or gets listed, no page refresh needed.
