@SummerELight @ChristianPunsOG Do you believe he made humanity (specific Adam and Eve) as separate act of creation, or that humans are the result of evolutionary processes also? Or a third option?

@ChristianPunsOG Evolution isn’t the answer of “why” but “how”. My God is not a genie. He didn’t snap his fingers and the entire diversity of life just appeared out of thin air. My God is complex and large enough to use equally large and complex processes for His works.

@RocketBallRandy @CNviolations Nah. Takeaways often arrive an hour later in the UK, he’d have loads of time. And probably more than one microwave for peak times, they’re not expensive machines.

@CNviolations there is no way this is true, microwave meals are very different looking from restaurant food, not to mention he would be fucked if he got 10 orders at once unless he had 10 microwaves

Atheists really hate how distinctly Christian space travel is. Astronauts read Genesis orbiting the moon (Apollo 8) Took communion on the lunar surface (Aldrin) Psalms from the moon (Irwin) Bibles to the ISS (Glover) Now Artemis II We are so back

Al Gore just said “none of the predictions from the past 20 years have been wrong from climate scientists.” This inspired me to go back and watch the classic An Inconvenient Truth. Upon rewatch it was worse than I remember!

@fandompulse “Even the little baby orcs, in their little orc cradles?” - he didn’t really say that, did he? Regardless…

George R.R. Martin explains how his Game of Thrones characters wielding power badly is his answer to Tolkien: "Ruling is hard. This was maybe my answer to Tolkien, whom, as much as I admire him, I do quibble with. Lord of the Rings had a very medieval philosophy: that if the king was a good man, the land would prosper. We look at real history and it’s not that simple. Tolkien can say that Aragorn became king and reigned for a hundred years, and he was wise and good. But Tolkien doesn’t ask the question: What was Aragorn’s tax policy? Did he maintain a standing army? What did he do in times of flood and famine? And what about all these orcs? By the end of the war, Sauron is gone but all of the orcs aren’t gone – they’re in the mountains. Did Aragorn pursue a policy of systematic genocide and kill them? Even the little baby orcs, in their little orc cradles? Real-life kings had real-life problems to deal with. Just being a good guy was not the answer. You had to make hard, hard decisions. Sometimes what seemed to be a good decision turned around and bit you in the ass; it was the law of unintended consequences. I’ve tried to get at some of these in my books. My people who are trying to rule don’t have an easy time of it. Just having good intentions doesn’t make you a wise king." What do you think Tolkien would have thought about such comments?

Jesus literally said “you’ll know them by their fruits”. The fruits as described in this post bear nothing on the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” Galatians 5:19-26 That’s just one short passage of many, I rest my case.

@sejgalloway @Atomixion2 @AtheistTakes Unironically, your counter argument fulfills “the appeal to purity”, the fallacy stresses. Accepting Jesus Christ is a general and universal prerequisite. You haven’t disproved those ppl aren’t Christian because they too could have done the same thing…

@sejgalloway @Atomixion2 @AtheistTakes If a truly saved person did in fact act this way, then you”ll counter with “ we all fall short of God’s grace” - removing accountability. Unironically, if you had a chance to speak to those ppl who you think aren’t actually Christian, they might say the same about you.

That doesn’t work here. What defines someone as being Scottish, objectively, is their heritage and/or location of birth - not if they have sugar or not with their porridge. Objectively, what this post describes is not Christianity. There is objective criteria for being a Christian, and that is to follow the teachings of Jesus and his apostles, which 95% of this contradicts. The only parts that align with Christianity are “accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour” and “asking forgiveness”. The rest of it openly goes against what is taught and described in the scriptures. You can’t just say you’re a disciple of someone, but say and do whatever you want regardless of the will of the one you’re meant to be following. I assume you hate injustice, so you’d probably have an issue with someone carrying out a mass murder in the name of Street Disciple001 and the philosophy you live by?

In 2019, 53-year-old Fred Pepperman was on a Florida beach when a riptide swept his three daughters out to sea. Grace (16), Olivia (20) & Kathryn (24) Hearing their screams of “Dad, help us!” he dove into the raging water with zero hesitation. One by one, he saved all three of his daughters by pulling them back to shore. Moments later, exhausted from his heroic actions, Fred collapsed to the ground & died. His final words to his daughters were “I got you”
