If the answer is no, then there’s no reason to get emotional about it. You’re simply not employable based on their current needs. Again, there are lots of backend engineers, but only a few with real areas of specialization. Some companies need backend engineers specialized in: - payment infrastructure - streaming systems - distributed systems - security/authentication systems - data engineering & high-scale processing So I guess that’s where I’m coming from. But again, was the Moniepoint CEO right? I’d say he could have broken it down better by saying they’re struggling to find engineers with the exact specialized experience they require.
