I’ve got around 20k lines of swift code for the mac app I’m working on half of it is a hand rolled redux-like core, the other half is me fighting AppKit’s API I want a fucking manual draw loop with CoreGraphics 98.7% convinced its gonna be a net negative in LOC terms

multiple pages then can be grouped into one or multiple contexts the dump -> organize iteration loop is suprisingly powerful in anything that needs to be thought-out

I've been working on this journal app to track thoughts and progress while working or generally creating first you dump your thoughts onto a time-aware surface any entry gets a timestamp and is treated as a building block

then you can continue each entry separately and let bigger ideas emerge from them once an idea is big enough you can extract one or multiple entries into a separate time-aware page

this is a great book about complexity in codebases, what is it, how to manage it, etc.

@thorstenball curious, what do you find good about it ? is it something about how you personally use it or the software itself ?

If Apple Notes supported Markdown it might be my favorite piece of software I use day to day.

the codebase's gotten hard to handle and you're not really sure why? AI slop (or not) cleanup as a service, anybody?

I find it depressing that programmers have equated maximal color use with code readability. You can read entire books with literally no syntax highlights but it's unthinkable to only use font weight and italics for code?

I'd love an iOS app to quickly create wallpapers from text or even dynamically generate photo shuffle wallpapers from a list of text entries. I wonder if there's an iOS API for that

I let Claude use my app for 5 seconds it started writing in it and it was… actually nice to read I didn’t have to guide it at all made me think: maybe this is actually usable

I like that I don’t think about tracking my work anymore. Work just happens. The timeline builds itself.
