@Senkrechtstart3 spricht hier etwas an (15:26), was mir auch Sorgen bereitet: Die Belastung der Atmosphäre durch erhöhten Raumflugverkehr. Die grob abgeschätzten CO2-Belastungen erscheinen an und für sich harmlos, nur die sind in den oberen Atmosphärenschichten deutlich wirksamer und das ist nur ein Teil der Emissionen. Beim Wiedereintritt von Oberstufen, Satelliten und sonstigen Überresten verglühen hunderte Tonnen Metalle jedes Jahr und das geht ja gerade erst los. Selbst wenn die Trägersysteme vielleicht bald alle voll wiederverwendbar sind, dann wird ein Satellitenregen in Zukunft normal. Trägerstrukturen, Solarpanele, Batterien, Spezialflüssigkeiten etc. Alles ein Potpourri aus Stoffen, die vielleicht gar nicht so unentspannt in der oberen Atmosphäre agieren. That's 21% more thrust than what they state on their website. That uprating is dearly needed because New Glenn is way too large for it's current thrust configuration. I would see a possibility for BE-4 to do 50% more thrust. Current chamber pressure is really low. And, if that rumour about the 9 engine New Glenn is true, this could have an uprated 3-stage New Glenn (with more propellant especially in the 2nd stage and a 100 t propellant 3rd stage) replace SLS Block 1 with margin - If they get in the general dry mass ratio region of Saturn V. And that should be doable, right, @blueorigin? My rough (!) estimate brings TLI capacity of that New Glenn uprating fantasy in the area of ~42 t with barge landing. Saturn V was, in the end, at ~48 t.
