I've been sitting here today thinking about my friend Elvis. I miss him, and I know many of you do too. Elvis and I spent time together over the years, and I remember him once telling me how much he wished he could go to church like I did. He worried that if he showed up, the whole service would be disrupted by people asking for autographs. I told him what I did when that happened, just tell the young folks you'll sign their church bulletins after the service, and then worship together first. Let the music and the fellowship come before anything else. Elvis had such a deep spiritual longing. In fact, he once asked me to help arrange a meeting with Oral Roberts, and they spent an afternoon talking together about faith. It meant a lot to him. Sometimes I think about how much Elvis loved the gospel music he grew up with, and how much he missed the simple joy of church fellowship. He had a heart that was searching, and I'll always remember that about him. #PatBoone #ElvisPresley #GospelMusic #FaithAndMusic #Memories
