In today's @ObserverUK: "By the time I arrived at A&E, I was on the point of collapse. One of the identifying symptoms the UKST lists for sepsis is “it feels like you’re going to die” and that is precisely how I felt. After almost four hours I received a broad antibiotic to combat the infection before blood tests could identify the most effective antibiotic." Sorry but I'm out of here. I haven't read any notifications for over a week (and I'm not going to), but if you have any questions (genuine and nice ones) or need any help you can easily find me elsewhere! Feels a bit like I'm walking out of a marriage!

We all walk back into things we intended to leave right? Just to say, remember the NHS (and @WorldSepsisDay) support this #sepsis symptoms list and – importantly – call to action. Temperature, high or low, might well indicate infection but is not a reason to go to hospital. Use these.

@Linusthecat2 @NHS_Lothian I'm so sorry to hear this. People at risk of chronic and recurrent UTIs - as you know only too painfully – risk #sepsis on a daily basis. There's not a lot we can do to intervene but we are here to listen.
