NYC has a hidden listening room and café. It's called Silence Please and it's one of the most unique spots in the city: - hundreds of vinyl records - high-end speaker showroom - delicious coffee, teas and patries - private listening stations w/ headsets - 2,000 sq ft of gallery-style space - long communal tables + couches It's part café, part teahouse, part event space. They do tea ceremonies, vinyl painting sessions, and live DJ sets.

@bstockton328 @metaplexmovies It's not a mystery? Edward Neumeier (Robocop) wrote a great script, and Paul Verhoeven, who had lived through nazi occupation in the Netherlands, directed the hell out of it because he's great.
Btw I recommend Soldier of Orange, Verhoeven's first non-documentary. It's fantastic.

watching STARSHIP TROOPERS for the first time (yeah yeah I know) only to discover it's a stupidly huge movie. gigantic miniatures, smart use of VFX, massive sets, every frame packed with endless extras. it looks amazing. unironically one of the great spectacles of the 90s
