@bethanysaudio Not a super pro in this, but from my experience, having a very concise and to the point website and reel can be game changer.
Also, messaging the folk thay work at the studio you are applying to makes a big difference.
Very broad and short info but hope it helps a bit!

also, any words of encouragement to share? I feel that with the current economy, many open roles have lots of applicants and there are probably some things myself or anyone else looking for more work could possibly brush up on to stand out a little!

This is one of the biggest things I hate about the games industry. I know too many folks who try for years to get in w/ nothing to show for it. Nothing but gatekeeping nonsense. Reminder that if you’re in, it’s not bc you’re better than the folks still trying. You were lucky.

2. Really important, even reaching out to someone before applying to a gig counts as networking imo.
3. Both! but I think it's easier to network once you 'made it'
People should think of networking as making friends rather than a business transaction!
