I’m outraged at your outrageous outrage

Here's one thing nobody wants to admit: Jeffrey Epstein was highly intelligent, well-read, charismatic, skillful at various complicated endeavors -- yes, including his money-management business -- and a lot of smart people genuinely enjoyed his company. I'm sorry, but if everyone from Steve Bannon, to Noam Chomsky, to Alan Dershowitz, to Marvin Minsky -- as well as all manner of other academics and scientists at the top of their fields -- found him intellectually stimulating, praised his intellect, and appreciated the intellectual opportunities he was able to facilitate, it's just stupid not to acknowledge this. In fact, it's an impediment to any legitimate search for the truth to regard him solely through the prism of some spectacular world-historic mega-villain, Hitler and Satan combined, pedo predation incarnate, or whatever. And no, to acknowledge this is not to endorse literally everything he ever did in his entire life. It's using reason and evidence to best understand what actually went on here, rather than just blithering hysteria. And of course, the internet much prefers the latter.
