@SilfurVT @Mewgicalgurlart I'm only a small creator, but the books I sold at Dokomi were only available in english, and while I sold one or two books to people who only spoke english, there were way more people who decided against buying it because of the language - so I kinda get why, sadly 😞

@Mewgicalgurlart The only thing for me, which is more of a disappointed but whatever kind of situation, is that 95% of the media being sold was in German. I spoke with some vendors who told me they do sell English stuff online but decided not to bring it which felt like a loss.

I don't get the too German thing because I have managed to communicate perfectly in english be it with the org., customers etc even outside of the con. A lot of things are in English or easy enough to understand and if it's in German I just use a translator and problem solved.

KI hat auf einer Messe wie die DoKomi - die von 90% ultra kreativen Menschen besucht und bezahlt wird - NICHTS verloren. Egal ob zum Erwerb oder als Werbung. So etwas wirft ein ganz schlechtes Licht auf die betroffenen Stände/Händler/Werbenden und auch die Convention selbst

On the last day of DOKOMI I got… Robbed :D My cash bag was on this table while we were dismantling and I guess someone took the opportunity to snatch it on their way out. Thankfully my wallet and phone weren’t in it at the time (although those both have trackers…) but I lost around 2.5k euros This is also how I found out Germany/Europe do not have security cameras that record and store recordings, so theres pretty much no way to identify the thief. I guess it’s my fault for not putting a tracker in the bag or being more aware I guess (or just for putting it on a table…) A real sad way to end an otherwise absolutely insanely successful weekend, but keeps everything in balance I suppose.

whelp I didn't even cover my expenses for dokomi, let alone production costs. This was a financial disaster. It was very fun getting to talk to so many people though, and I saw so much incredible art, I'm going back home with a lot of fuel for hard work.
