Lucas shared an overview of SFCC, highlighting academic programs, the benefits of starting at a community college, the A+ Program, student resources, and campus opportunities such as athletics and student life. Propst spoke about his career in higher education marketing, shared insights about SFCC’s Digital Media Communications program, and discussed how the skills he developed as an SFCC student support both his professional work and his video production business. Engineering Design Technology Instructor Madison Hercules and her students recently welcomed the Sedalia Police Department to the Collab Lab to showcase a project they developed together. Exciting news! 🚜🐂 State Fair Community College will receive $6 million in federal funding to build a new Workforce Training Center for Agriculture Advancement on the college’s 200-acre farm. Secured by Rep. Mark Alford and approved as part of the FY26 federal budget, the investment will support hands-on learning in agriculture, animal science, agronomy and ag technology. Retired State Fair Community College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bill Barton was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 1 in Springfield. On Friday, Jan. 23, SFCC Welding Technology Program Coordinator Seth Stucker and his students kicked off the first Future Ready Friday at John Boise Middle School. Eighth-grade students explored career pathways in welding and gained hands-on experience using virtual welding technology, connecting classroom learning to real-world careers.
