School Lunch Hero Day was everything we could have imagined and more! 🦸 Between the superhero costumes, crafty signs and cards of appreciation, and a flood of thank-yous from our amazing staff and students, our hearts are completely full. 💙

It’s been a sweet, sweet school year, and we’re celebrating students' success by providing a special treat today, Friday, May 8, with all school lunches. The countdown to summer begins now, and we're wishing students the best as they finish out the school year strong. ☀️

April served up a little bit of everything: BBQ cookouts, Earth Day celebrations, colorful farmers markets, staff recognition, and more. As we move closer to the end of the school year, we remain focused on maintaining that steady progress and finishing the school year strong! 🗓️

Our Local Chef Series keeps on cooking. 👩‍🍳✨ Chef Mark Young stopped by @wcsdschools to serve up a Southern staple: sweet potato grits, roasted chicken, and greens! The recipe, created by Chef Jessica Shillato of The Spotted Salamander, was a hit with students and staff. 👏

#MenuMadness2026! 🏀 8 contenders went head-to-head each week, bringing home the gold based on what students in each district loved most. Be it a comfort staple or something more adventurous, this year’s lineup reflected what students are actually excited to see on the menu!

Burritos are a sneaky, mouthwatering way for students to load up on protein, fiber, and essential vitamins, providing the ultimate boost to power through long classes and after-school activities. What’s your favorite burrito filling? 🌯

Just like that, #NationalNutritionMonth has come to a close! 🥗 From countless Roving Chefs to Farmer's Markets filled with fresh, aromatic produce and our annual Menu Madness competition, this month was all about turning nutrition into an experience.
