I’ve come to interpret this as pochita saying that since denji grew up in poverty and constant risk of death his body and mind became set that as his “normal” so when his life became better it felt wrong and the violence and chaos of csm feels right so he never was able to adjust

@UncleHuss1 Can you explain to me why Denji and Asa's journey not only going nowhere but getting erased is a satisfying conclusion to the story? It's the opposite of an ending. It's not the resolution of prior events, it's their undoing and erasure.

@RyWayne26 The struggle led nowhere. How the characters end up has nothing to do with what happened. Part 2 was good, the ending sucks because it sidesteps any conclusion to the story we had.

@0pposite_of_me @rezemaxxed You say that but this entire ending is a consequence of a magic genie (Pochita) randomly solving everything. It's not a consequence of anything Denji learned or did, and in fact it undoes everything he learned or did.

The fact that he was refusing to make decisions settling on a 3rd magical option was the whole problem

Goodbye Eri didn't run for double digit volumes then undo the entire story in the last 3 chapters. This isn't an ending because it has nothing to do with what came before it

It´s amusing as a casual fan of csm to watch its fandom go at each others throat over an ending that is....alright.
Not great. Not amazing. Not mind blowing.
But also its the ending I would expect from someone like Fujimoto. Especially after reading Goodbye Eri.
