@sfnords @Slate The more I think about it all - the unraveling of rec teams, the race to the bottom free-time-wise, etc. - the more it seems to be a classic collective action problem. My guess is @thom_curran @JonHaidt & @FreeRangeKids would have valuable perspective to add.

Thank you. Blaming teachers for a curriculum that doesn’t actually teach kids to read is pretty out of touch. I feel for teachers who were trained in a method that doesn’t work and then blamed for it.
