Messi, Sachin, FedEx are in same bracket. (Talent that was honed well) While, Ronaldo, Kohli and Djoker in other bracket. (Talented but sheer tenacity made them legends) Correct or not?

It was Nazi Style Ethnic cleansing. Randomly buses were stopped, segregation done and people were shot dead. All Punjab Cities and Villages were ghost towns after 6 PM Curfews were imposed for days at end The Economy totally collapsed No glorification of those terrorists should be allowed under any circumstance and any attempts to rekindle the Khalistani movement should be nipped at the bud
K Sudarshan@SudarshanEMA

Not many would remember that 22 innocent students who had gone to Thapar Institute of Technology, Patiala for a cultural festival in November of 1989 were brutally shot dead past midnight in their rooms and 11 of them were my college mates and friends at REC Kurukshetra (now NIT) and the rest from Nagpur.

Your grandfather worked 8 hours a day. Fed a family of 10. Owned a house. Had zero loans. Slept by 9 PM. Walked everywhere. Never saw a doctor. You work 12 hours a day. Side hustle on weekends. 3 EMIs running. Sleep at 1 AM. Uber everywhere. Anxiety at 25. The world did not get better. It got more expensive.

🇳🇴🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 I don't think England understand what's coming on Saturday. English football is part of Norway's DNA. State TV has shown the English league every Saturday since 1969. Most Norwegians supported an English club before a Norwegian one. No footballing nation outside Britain lives English football the way we do. Beating England means more to us than beating Brazil ever could. And beyond Haaland and Ødegaard, half our squad play their club football in England. Every one of them is desperate for bragging rights in their own dressing room. England aren't facing one superstar. They're facing men with a point to prove and a nation that has waited decades for this. Norway will knock England out of the World Cup on Saturday. #FIFAWorldCup2026

I have said, quite a few times, that the dominance of European club football is killing the growth of football elsewhere in the world. Contrasting styles and philosophies, which gave a rich mosaic, a rich tapestry, to football, is gone. And the game is far worse for it. Our teams at the @FIFAWorldCup are all pseudo-European and play a similar way. Look at #Brazil for example: The #Selecao we knew and loved, with its technique and flamboyance, as displayed by Pele, Garrincha, Jairzinho, Tostao, Zico and Socrates, is gone… 😢 It’s been gone for decades now. Any wonder they are now a shadow of themselves? Football needs to regrow its rich global tapestry, with various styles of play, different ways of coaching and development of players, rather than Europe dictating everything. The present state of affairs is not helping football. Its leaders should think deeply about this matter and do something about it.

ONE OF THE DARKEST DAYS IN INDIAN CRICKET HISTORY. ✍️ - For the first time ever remained win-less for 5 consecutive T20is. - Lost a T20i by more than 100 runs for the first time ever. - Got bowled out for just 76, their 2nd ever lowest total in T20is. - Lost 5 wickets in the Powerplay for the first time ever in T20is.

Harry Kane’s 32, married to his childhood sweetheart, got four kids, runs his own mental health charity and quietly donates to the armed forces and mental health causes. Barely drinks, doesn’t smoke, and in 15+ years in the spotlight he’s never had a single scandal. Proper clean living. On the pitch? Ridiculous numbers. England’s all-time top scorer, Spurs’ all-time top scorer, six Golden Boots (four in the Prem, one at a World Cup). Most strikers could only dream of that. Yet the bloke still gets written off and disrespected more than anyone in his generation. Gives everything for club and country, never puts a foot wrong off the field. Proper professional. If you’re after a role model, it doesn’t get much better than Kane. The fact we even have to say it says it all, doesn’t it?

@ShaneRyanHere That's exactly what nosy politicians do - they harm their own nation. Is it the job of a sitting president to bully a sports governing body? Was this why the American public cast their votes? I mean, really, the joke is on the Americans - you reap what you sow.

People will think I'm crazy for this take, but I'm a big believer in the psychological impact of narratives on teams. Yes, Belgium looked so much better tonight and we looked lost. But this team had a boatload of good vibes behind them, and in the last 48 hours that vanished, and replacing it was a story of implicit political corruption that turned them into the bad guys, or at least the beneficiary of the corruption. You can't tell me that doesn't put pressure on the team, change the vibe, and take a psychological toll that impacted what happened on the field. American fans, serious and casual, should be pissed at this interference. We overturned a red card and our reward was losing what made this team so much fun until now.

@MrWinMarshall Spanish colonizers and historians spread those negative propaganda. In actuality, the Aztecs were highly sophisticated and advanced civilization who made the mistake of trusting the Europeans disguised as traders. And ultimately lost everything - language, culture, history.

Mexico name their stadium Azteca and have Aztec patterns on their kits, celebrating a civilisation of mass human sacrifices and ritual cannibalism. Norway wear Viking horns and have rowing celebration commemorating the savage rape, pillage and conquests by their forefathers. But for England… apparently it’s “discriminatory” for us to sing ‘10 German bombers’, celebrating our victory in the Battle of Britain, lest we offend… Nazis?

@ArunKrishnan_ The other day I was watching a recording of Rod Laver at Wimbledon in 1969 - he was 31 at that time. And my goodness! his serve, forehand, volleys were just brilliant. But his racket? made of plywood with gut strings - just imagine what Laver could've done with modern day rackets

If ever evidence was required of how the game has changed. Look at the T in front of the net. No bald patches at all. In the 70s and 80s, that entire area would be bald. All that serve and volleying. Now? Just the back of the baseline.
