If Nayara Has 7,000 Outlets and Reliance Has 2,100, Why Stop Them from Selling Ethanol-Free Petrol? ⛽ India is a free and capitalist economy. Let's keep it that way. Private fuel stations already charge extra for premium fuels. If customers are willing to pay and companies like Nayara and Jio-bp are ready to supply, why not allow the sale of pure, ethanol-free petrol? The distribution network exists if there is consumer demand. Why create roadblocks in a free market? People eat at both dhabas and 5-star hotels depending on their preference and budget. Good that you have finally entered this debate. Now take the next step …. Release a joint press statement from every automobile manufacturer operating in India, clearly stating that E20 fuel is safe for vehicles that are not E20 compliant, and that any damage arising from its use will be fully covered under warranty. @ndtv @HardeepSPuri @GaurieD Choice? Who is using hydrogen fuel? The choice requested is for vehicles which you promised can only be run on E10 fuel... That's a promise you have to keep till they are phased out say 15 years.. then E20 will go into E10 part and E30 can go into E20 part.

I heard this perspective somewhere. Maruti's target customer isn't upgrading from a car. They are upgrading from a bike. That's why Maruti has focused on affordability, fuel efficiency, and low running costs rather than building heavier cars like Tata. And even a basic car is far safer than a two wheeler. Just an interesting perspective.
